Activity A5: Storyboards

Step 1: Use AI to Learn about Storyboards

Follow the pair programming approach to use an AI chatbot to learn about UX storyboards. Focus on answering the following questions:

  • What are UX storyboards, and how do software developers use them?
  • What key elements do UX storyboards typically contain, and why are each of those elements important?
  • What are wireframes, and how are they used in storyboards?
  • What is the relationship between user stories and UX storyboards?

Be prepared to teach what you have learned to the class!

  • You may use visual aids, including your chat transcript.
  • Concrete examples are very useful for teaching/learning.

Step 2: Use AI to Create Storyboards

Follow the pair programming approach (rotate drivers) to use an AI chatbot to create storyboards for your team's user stories.

  • Put each storyboard in a Markdown file.
  • Put each wireframe image go in an SVG file.

Be prepared to share your storyboards with the class!

Step 3: Critique the Storyboards

As a team, discuss and critique the storyboards created by the AI.

  • Do they make sense—are they logical, consistent, and understandable?
  • How good were the interface design decisions?
  • Would they be helpful to a team member coding features (possibly vibe coding)?
  • Any proposed improvements based on your critique?

Be prepared to share findings with the class!
